Become a Volunteer

Caring for injured, sick and orphaned wild animals is a time consuming activity.

Besides caring for animals there are many other things that you can do to help – from answering public calls, knitting possum pouches, assembling aviaries or providing transport.

All volunteering activities are equally important and volunteers are what make our organisation run smoothly.

To become a volunteer, you must be a Financial Member and attend our Orientation course. Dates of our Orientation courses can be found on the Training Calendar. You must be 18 years or over to volunteer or have an adult volunteer with you.

For you to become a wildlife carer or volunteer with ACT Wildlife we offer training in the care of Birds, Reptiles, Possums, Wombats and Bats as well as Phone and Transport.

In order to begin volunteering with ACT Wildlife (caring for wildlife or to learn about other volunteering possibilities) you must attend our Orientation training.

You will be notified when training is offered and dates are on the website Training Calendar.
